Bangalore: With only a handful of apps securing the spotlight in the app stores, many developers wonder on how to make money from their apps. The answer to their problem is monetization. Here are Kevin Ducoff’s compilations of the top five app monetization tools for mobile applications posted on huffingtonpost.com.

1.  AdMob
One of the biggest names in the mobile ad platform industry, Google’s AdMob provides in – app advertising to 50,000 mobile businesses. An exciting feature with AdMob is its mediation feature which allows advertisers to allocate traffic base on the percentage, ad revenue or location as well as managing different ad networks. AdMob also helps advertisers to promote their products on other apps too.

2. StartApp
With over 250 million downloads and about 20 percent of the devices in the android platform using the StartApp search engine, it is now the largest mobile search engine. With the StartApp SDK, developers can incorporate into their app a mobile search engine within three to five minutes. Developers are paid for every download that contains the add on and it doesn’t alter the app experience thus making it a hit among developers.

3. InMobi
Not only will InMobi help you in monetizing, but it will also engage the users. The conversion tracking system from InMobi will allow developers to identify whether the right ads are being presented depending on the type of users.

4. Tapjoy
Tapjoy has an incentivization monetization program called the Mobile Value Exchange. Over 110 million mobile users in more than 75,000 applications are using this incentivized program from Tapjoy. Under this program, users can click and interact with the advertisers to gain virtual currency or any other bonuses. According to Tapjoy, developers using this incentivization program can increase their monetization revenue by 50 to 300 percent.
